Sanitizer, soap and bleach… Are they the only answer?
In an effort to fight disease most will reach for soaps and heavy chemical cleaners. Clorox wipes, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, bleach, ammonia, the list goes on. This makes sense, they are tried and true methods. But they are also chemicals, and when misused can be dangerous – and even deadly.
Calls to poison control centers are up dramatically due to misuse of these products. Mixing them, using too much, inhaling fumes, children coming in contact. It’s all very scary.
Confusion abounds as to what should be cleaned, how often and which method to use. There are many reports of people sanitizing everything they bring into their home, including their groceries. 1 in 6 people will become sickened each year with a food-borne illness. Fruits and vegetables are the biggest culprits, so it only makes sense to clean your produce and other grocery items. But cleaning products are not meant for human consumption, you should not use them on the food you eat. What can you use to clean your food?
Ozone as a disinfectant
Well before the recent COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak, ozone was used as a disinfectant. In fact, ozone was used to purify environments during the SARS epidemic of 2003. Here are a few ways you can use ozone in your home:
Ozone disinfecting spray bottle - The EnozoPro creates ozonated water through a highly advanced, patented process based on a specially treated diamond. It will last for the equivalent of thousands of bottles of common household cleaner. The sprayed water can kill 99.9% of most harmful pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Legionella, MRSA, and more when used as directed.
Ozone water treatment The O-Pen® is the latest advancement in pocket water purifiers. It makes water safer by infusing it with a cloud of ozone gas. Used by water treatment plants and water bottlers world-wide, ozone is the strongest oxidizer available that can be safely used in water treatment
Drop-in ozone pod Fill a bowl with water, drop in your fresh veggies from the farmer’s market, and drop in the ozone pod. The Ozo-Pod® 10 will quickly bring 5 gallons of water up to 1PPM ozone concentration within minutes. That is a lethal level to almost any microbe that can make you sick. Ozone also breaks down harmful long-chain molecules that are found in herbicides and pesticides.
There are risks to using ozone, so be sure to use a reputable product and follow safety measures.
